GENERAL GROUP RULES
Membership in the Labyrinth Family carries a shared responsibility: respect the people around you, preserve line integrity, and represent the family with care. Every situation has its own circumstances, but these rules provide the standard by which concerns will be considered.
LINEAGE & CARE
Relieging
Relieging within Labyrinth is not something we take lightly. The relationship between a liege and their minion is an important part of our family structure, and changing that relationship should happen only when there is a genuine reason to do so.
If you feel that a reliege is necessary, you must submit a Reliege Request Form through our website. Once submitted, the situation will be reviewed by the Queen (Layla), your current liege, and your Line Head. Depending on the circumstances, we may first attempt to resolve the issues between you and your liege before approving a change.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that a reliege will be approved.
If a reliege is approved, the Queen (Layla) and your Line Head will determine your new liege. To maintain line integrity, you will normally be placed with another liege within your existing line. A reliege should not be viewed as a way to choose a new liege or move into another line.
EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Changing Lines
In rare and exceptional circumstances, a reliege into a completely different line may be considered. This requires the full agreement of everyone involved, including your current liege and Line Head, as well as the potential new liege and their Line Head.
Before a line change is approved, everyone involved must be comfortable with the decision and confident that the move will not create conflict, resentment, or damage the relationship between the two lines. The wellbeing and unity of the family will always take priority over an individual’s preference to change lines.
A cross-line reliege is an exception—not the standard process—and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Valid Reasons for a Reliege
- You are lieged to a romantic partner and the relationship has ended under circumstances that make remaining under them uncomfortable or inappropriate.
- Your liege has consistently neglected their responsibilities toward you for an extended period—generally three months or longer. During that time, your liege should have been made aware of your concerns and given a reasonable opportunity to discuss and address them.
- You know that your liege is preparing to leave Labyrinth, but you wish to remain with the family.
Reasons That Would Not Normally Justify a Reliege
- You simply feel like changing lieges or would prefer someone else.
- You begin dating another Labyrinth member and want to become lieged to your new partner.
- You have made a new best friend, become closer to another family member, or feel that someone else has been helping you more than your current liege and would rather be lieged to them.
- Your liege is temporarily unavailable because of a legitimate real-life circumstance, such as moving, illness, an accident, family matters, or another temporary situation. Once informed, your Line Head can support you and ensure that you are looked after until your liege returns.
The purpose of relieging is to provide a solution when a liege-and-minion relationship genuinely cannot continue—not to rearrange family lines based on friendships, relationships, or personal preference.
MEMBERSHIP
Alternate Accounts
LINE INTEGRITY
Lieging Alternate Accounts
Your alternate accounts may not be lieged to another member of Labyrinth. Any alternate account belonging to you must be lieged to your own main account or within the line you are in.
GROUP ACCESS & IDENTITY
Alts in the Labyrinth Group
Alternate accounts may be added to the Labyrinth group with the basic Chosen rank for the purpose of rezzing items on clan land and receiving notices.
If you use an alternate account to interact with family members in clan chat or while on clan land, you must be honest about who you are. You may not intentionally deceive or mislead family members about your identity. Before engaging with others, please tell them the name of your main account.
STRICTLY PROHIBITED
Alts May Not Be Used to Join Another Line
Creating or using an alternate account to secretly join a different line within Labyrinth is strictly prohibited.
You may not hide the fact that an account belongs to you in order to become lieged under another member, enter another line, circumvent our relieging rules, or otherwise establish a separate identity within the family.
There are no exceptions to this rule. Deliberately sneaking an alternate account into another Labyrinth line is considered a serious breach of trust and may result in removal from the family.
LOYALTY & RETURN
Leaving & Returning to the Family
We understand that sometimes the grass may seem greener on the other side, which is one reason we encourage everyone to explore and tour other clans before deciding to join Labyrinth.
If you choose to leave and later realize that Labyrinth is where you want to be, you are welcome to return provided that you left the family on good terms. We understand that people sometimes need to explore other options to discover where they truly belong.
However, Labyrinth is not a revolving door. If you leave and return twice, there will not be a third opportunity to rejoin. Loyalty, commitment, and stability are important parts of what makes a family strong, and we ask every member to take the decision to leave seriously.
Returning members: When rejoining Labyrinth, you will be placed back under your previous liege whenever possible. If that is not possible, you will be placed under a new liege within the same line to preserve line integrity. Leaving Labyrinth and later returning cannot be used as a way to change your liege or move into a different line.
FAMILY PROTECTION
Hunting Within the Family
We are all part of the same family and should support one another—not hunt or attempt to recruit members from within Labyrinth into another liege or line.
If a family member tells you they are unhappy with their current liege or line, encourage them to speak up and try to resolve the situation rather than using it as an opportunity to recruit them.
If they do not feel comfortable speaking directly with their liege or Line Head, encourage them to contact the Queen of the clan. The Queen can listen to their concerns, help mediate the situation, and work with everyone involved to find an appropriate solution.
Our goal: Support one another and resolve concerns in a way that protects both the individual and the integrity of the family and its lines.
CONSENT & ETIQUETTE
Bite Requests
We strongly discourage random biting. Sending someone a bite request without first speaking to them and receiving their permission is considered poor etiquette. It can reflect badly on you, the Labyrinth Family, and the Bloodlines community as a whole.
Always ask before requesting a bite. If the person agrees, you may then send the request. Afterward, it is good etiquette to offer them a bite in return so they have an opportunity to restore the vitals they lost by allowing you to bite them.
Please remember: There is a person behind every avatar. Be respectful and communicate first.
AUTONOMY & AGREEMENT
Souls & Soul Holders
Your soul is yours to choose who holds, regardless of your liege, line, or clan affiliation. A liege may never demand that you give them your soul simply because you are lieged to them.
If you choose to move your soul to someone else, a soul-for-soul trade should be arranged. If Electrum was used to retrieve your soul, appropriate compensation for the Electrum must be given if requested.
HUD purchase exception: When a liege purchases your Bloodlines HUD for you, your soul is initially given to the liege who purchased it as part of that agreement. If you later wish to move your soul to someone else, you may request a soul trade to have it transferred.
Soul ownership and lieging are separate relationships, and both should always be handled with respect and clear communication.
RESPECT & CONSENT
Relationships & Boundaries
All relationships within our family deserve respect. Whether friendship, partnership, family, or liege/minion relationships, healthy communication and clear boundaries are important. Please respect the relationships and commitments of others, avoid unnecessary interference, and be mindful of boundaries.
Respecting Minion Boundaries
Do not interfere with or alter another person's minion or their Bloodlines stats without the appropriate consent. This includes:
- Turning someone without their liege's consent
- Using potions to alter their state, status, or stats
Electrum is the only exception and may be used at the minion's own discretion.
Please respect the bonds and agreements between lieges and their minions. These boundaries are an important part of maintaining trust and respecting our family structure.
SHARED COMMUNITY SPACES
Haunt Signs
Haunt signs are not hunting or recruitment areas. You are welcome to socialize, meet new people, and allow genuine friendships to form naturally.
Please give people appropriate space and do not use haunt areas as an opportunity to actively seek out or recruit members.

CONDUCT BEYOND SECOND LIFE
Social Media
Labyrinth does not police personal disputes between clan members that take place outside Second Life, including on platforms such as Facebook, Discord, Skype, text messages, or other forms of social media.
We are all adults and are free to express ourselves and handle our personal relationships as we choose. However, what happens outside Second Life can become a concern when it begins to negatively affect Labyrinth or the members within it.
If a member consistently creates unnecessary drama, harasses or targets others, or engages in excessively negative behavior outside Second Life that carries over into the family or creates ongoing issues within the group, that behavior may be considered when evaluating their standing within Labyrinth. It may also affect their ability to advance or hold positions of greater responsibility within the family.
